We are getting the boat ready...

Preschool

Daddy is such an over protective dad -- he worries about my future -- that he went straight from the hospital to the JCC and enrolled me in Pre-School. I think I am at the top of the 2011 waiting list. Hopefully I will get in -- I hear it is really competitive. But I told Daddy that he needed to tell the admissions officers that I have a good disposition, that I will be able to speak two languages and that I will know a lot about the Beatles' music. Daddy plays me their music all the time. Daddy also showed the nice admission ladies all 150 pictures he has of me :  ) 

So now I need everyone's advice on how I can prepare for school.

GrandPa got me the Rolls Royce of baby carriages

Thank you very much for my new Bug-a-boo carriage. I will be the coolest baby on the block! Watch out Laurel Village... here comes the S. S. Wilder

I love the big powerful and durable wheels. They will help me navigate the tough terrain in the Presidio and on Crissy Field. And I love all the emergency switches and brakes that will help dad and mom going down those big SF hills. I know Mommy is especially happy because she thinks about safety a lot. 

Thanks GrandPa. I can't wait for us to go for a walk together!!

Our little son dial

The doctor told us that the S. S. Wilder should get as much get as much light as possible to help him with his yellow skin. 

So we spent his first two days putting him in the sun's rays in our bedroom. 

And as the sun moved in the sky, we slide our little son scotty across the carpet floor.

 (Truth: He only sat in the position for 30 minutes.

Oh yea --- today marks the 1 week anniversary for the S. S. Wilder ... and he is definitely getting his sea legs and adjusting well to life outside the womb.

Another lefty?

The S. S. Wilder demonstrated that he is probably a lefty.

He has learned how to push his left hand against his pacifier so does not fall out of his mouth.

 

The night watchman vs. the night nanny

Mommy and Daddy decided to get rid of my night nanny. She only last two nights. Daddy felt like the night watchman because he had to keep on me the first night was here.

• She couldn't hear very well, so she couldn't hear me cry when I wanted my diaper changed or when I wanted a shot of milk (Daddy and I like to drink our milk -- he drinks Soy and I go Oh-Natural)
• She fell into deep sleeps -- where it would take two or three shouts to wake her up 

  Also, Daddy believed in some things that she didn't. She wanted to

• Let me cry in my crib until I got used to it (daddy thought the first few nights I should be picked up right away)
• Close my mouth so I would not swallow any germs from the air  

During the first night, Daddy saw me crying in my crib and picked me up and held onto me almost the whole night. While I slept learning against his shoulder, he walked around the living room, and as he did, the night nurse played 'here we go around the merry go around' following him as he walked around each piece of furniture.

So now the night watchman works the late night shift and keeps an eye on me ---- He and mommy take 3-4 hour shifts around the clock.

But I always know he has his eye on me.

"we are family... i got all my scotties with me'

Doctor Verde and Ranger Gordo

The Doctor Verde Story

As promised -- the story of Doctor Verde, who performed a miracle last week and got me out of the womb within minutes. In fact, she got me out in less than 10 minutes. There I was -- being pushed down but not out by Mommy. ...

All these people dressed in blue kept egging her on, coaching her to push more and more. Daddy seems to take over right away and play head coach -- telling Mommy to count to 10 slowly

After a few hours of pushing, our hero, Doctor Verde showed up. She quickly reached in and turned me so that I had my back to everyone (in the little womb).

And after quickly realizing that all the 'pushing' in the world wasn't going to work, she tried to vacuum me out of my womb room.

And then I heard her say that wasn't going to work either, that it was like the 'straits of Gibraltar' in there..and within seconds, she jumped into her big plastic boots, put on a green gown, and slipped on some magical green gloves ... she did all of this while wearing a necklace with lots of big golf ball size green pearls.

... and then within seconds Mommy and I were whisked to the operating room.

Daddy was there too -- dressed in blue and playing his usual role of Ranger Gordo.

And with the help of the other mini-verdes, Doctor Verde went in and grabbed me and brought me into this wonderful world.

Doctor Verde,

Mommy, Daddy and I want to thank you for performing a little miracle the other day... and for us be one big happy family.

My Mommy is now singing that famous song:

"We are family,... I have all my scotties with me..... We are family, I have all my Scotties with me.'

There's Daddy playing his usual role of Ranger Gordo -- saying 'Lil Scotty is going to join us no matter what.. so don't get in my way.."

Hi people....

Hi family and friends:

It might be another few weeks until you can come over and say hi. Mommy and Daddy are still scrambling to figure things out. Tonight, for example, Daddy learned how to change diapers.. You should see all the mess he left on my changing table....

I will let you know when the coast is clear and you can come over to visit.

Can't wait to meet everyone.....
