The other night -- on 5/21 -- we noticed a blue moon in the sky. (It really was a full moon on 5/19). According to the Farmer's Almanac, there will only be two full-moons in the next few years. Both on the 21st: November 21, 2010 and August 21, 2013. The 21st, you say?
What is a full-blue moon?

The origin of the term blue moon is steeped in folklore, and its meaning has changed and acquired new nuances over time. Some folklore said that when there was a blue moon, the moon had a face and talked to the people in its moonlight.
A Blue Moon is commonly the name given to the second full moon in a month. Since a full moon occurs every 29 1/2 days, if there is a full moon on the 1st or 2nd day of a month, there is a good chance there will be a second full or blue moon that month.
